The park was named after a German-born architect, surveyor, and writer who is considered a co-founder of modern Toronto, known for his portrait of Mohawk chief Thayendanegea.

A public artwork called Jacob's Ladder, created by a Toronto artist, will be installed on the west side of the park.

Park and street construction work was done by Somerville Construction of Toronto, including wider sidewalks, grassy berms, garden beds, and a new two-tiered fountain with unique sculptures.

Visitors can enjoy a wide, central plaza, granite mosaic paving, grassy berms, garden beds, a unique two-tiered fountain with dog and cat sculptures, and a public artwork installation called Jacob's Ladder.
