Today, we enjoyed a wonderful showcase of creativity and innovation as Grade 9 students from Branksome Hall Canada and @branksome_hall_asia shared their animation projects with the community!

It was a fun way to end off a great week of learning and growth. Though we had to say goodbye to our new friends today, we can't wait to see them again in February when our Grade 9s visit Jeju Island to collaborate on a STEM-themed project with Branksome Hall Asia!

The Branksome Hall community is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our former employee David Mindorff, Principal at Lyford Cay International School in The Bahamas. Those who worked and studied at Branksome Hall from 2003-2009 will remember David as DP Coordinator, Biology teacher and a most caring and brilliant colleague.

A highly regarded International Baccalaureate educator, David inspired us to embrace the IB philosophy and mission of teaching and learning. In his approach to work and life, David exemplified the attributes of the IB learner profile, as he strove to make the world a kinder and more just place for all.

During his years at Branksome Hall, David held the role of Deputy Chief Examiner with the IB organization and served as Principal Examiner for biology. He was the author of a number of textbooks. His most recent publication, "MYP Biology", published in 2017 by Oxford University Press is widely used by thousands of IB students around the world. David never lost his love of teaching and continued in the classroom throughout his four years as Principal at Lyford Cay.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy to David’s wife Michèle, who joined us as ESL Coordinator throughout David’s tenure. Together, David and Michèle made a most significant and memorable impact on our Branksome Hall journey toward becoming an IB world school.

We further extend our condolences to Michèle and David’s four sons, Nicholas, Michael, Benjamin and Jonathan.

Our thoughts are with the Lyford Cay community as they grieve the loss of their beloved Principal David Mindorff, who impacted the lives of countless students and educators worldwide.

This Wednesday, Branksome Hall held its first ever Soccer Day! The Lower Field was filled with school spirit as Senior & Middle School students cheered on the Branksome Hall Senior Soccer team as they played against @Hillstrath in an intense match. Congratulations to both teams! We can't wait for our next Soccer Day!

Creativity is flowing at this year's Grade 9 IDU Week with @branksome_hall_asia!

This year, students are creating animations based on stories that connect us to the past, position us in the present and guide us to the future. Students have been combining traditional arts like drawing and painting to create mesmerizing stop-motion animations based on the theme. We look forward to seeing the results of our students' hard work at the film showcase on Friday!

On Monday, we welcomed our Grade 9 friends from @branksome_hall_asia to campus for a week of learning and bonding! To celebrate their arrival, @branksome_boarding held a wonderful dinner complete with a heartwarming presentation by Boarding students, fun games and of course, good food!

We look forward to the rest of the week where Branksome Hall Asia's Grade 9 students will participate in Big Sister, Little Sister with our Junior School students, and a collaborative and educational Interdisciplinary Unit Week focused on the arts.

Our students are bringing their innovative design ideas to life at the Branksome Hall Maker Space!

This month, Grade 7 students have been hard at work learning how to turn their digital designs into laser-cut keychains and creating prototype desk organizers with paper. We can't wait to see all of the incredible things our students make this year! Follow @bhmakerspace for updates and more!
