Blyth Academy Lawrence Park is a private school offering experiential private education for students in Grades 7 – 12 a short walk from Eglinton Park. We offer an academic experience that is significantly different from other private and public schools. Our approach is designed to fully engage the students in the academic process with a genuine learning experience founded upon curiosity, creativity, and innovative thinking. Our campus hosts several signature events including a city-wide Triathlon, and works closely with nearby partners including Anytime Fitness, the Freehand School of Art, The Teddington Retirement Residence, Alvéole, and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program.

Our classes have an average size of 12 students, allowing teachers to spend significant individualized time with each student. There’s no “back row” in classrooms this small. Students are more comfortable speaking up in this environment.


We’ve been running quadmesters for over 10 years with great success. This four-term structure focuses on two subjects per term, promoting a deeper understanding of subjects in addition to creating the flexibility for students to join Blyth Academy at any term during the school year.


Preparation for post-secondary education is the primary focus with increased attention on critical thinking, interpreting information, independent learning, and active participation in classes and activities. Our strong guidance department works with each student to define their pathway.

We offer a comprehensive full-time program for Grades 7-12. Students studying with us for the full year benefit from our targeted programs for specific grades: the LaunchPad Program in Grades 9 & 10, and the Post-Secondary Preparation Program in Grades 11 & 12.

We have four intake periods during our school year to make starting at Blyth Academy as flexible as possible (September, November, February, April). This is possible due to our quadmester structure (four terms) which allows for flexibility for students who want to try us out or who are looking for extra credits in a gap year.

Night School allows students to maintain registration with their home school while benefitting from our small class sizes and personalized approach.


Summer School offers highly personalized and experiential learning that enhances student's education and sets them up for a successful fall semester.


Private Studies provide students in Grades 9 – 12 with a one-on-one learning experience in which teachers tailor the lessons to the needs and schedule of the individual student.

Student Council works as a team to organize school events, create fun daily activities, and serve as leaders in the student community. They specialize in planning, organizing, funding, and promoting. Previous initiatives have included school-wide dances, rock-paper-scissors tournaments, costume contests, and candygram deliveries.

Our school is a proud member of the Small Schools Athletic Federation. As a part of that organization, we compete against other Toronto-area high schools in a variety of sports each year. Longstanding Blyth LP teams include co-ed soccer (indoor 2019 champions!), co-ed flag football, co-ed softball, boys and girls basketball, and boys and girls volleyball.

The students and staff at Blyth LP have come together to form a warm and open community. The school is just big enough for there to always be something interesting happening, and yet still intimate enough that everybody can easily get to know everyone else. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and all students feel known and heard.

There are several big school-wide events that bring the community together each year. The Terry Fox Run is our major fundraiser, with our small school making a big impact on the funds we raise each year. MAD Night is a yearly evening to celebrate student talent - parents, students, and staff attend a student-led art exhibition with music and drama performances. Winter Day is a school-wide trip for outdoor fun each February, with skiing, boarding, and tubing options for students. And Blyth LP also hosts a yearly inter-Blyth Model UN competition, with the LP Model UN team coaching first-time participants from other Blyth campuses.
