Naturopathic doctors in Ontario are fully trained, licensed & regulated medical professionals. We are regulated under the RHPA, like doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. We learn the same things that your MD does, in addition to learning how to treat disease using safe, natural methods. How naturopathic doctors treat people can vary from one practitioner to another. Here’s what I do as a naturopathic doctor when I see you as a new patient:

We’ll delve into your health history, family history, and current symptoms in great detail.

We’ll fully investigate the root cause of your health problems through questionnaires, blood work, other lab tests, and imaging (where appropriate).

Then we’ll address the root cause of your problem through diet, lifestyle, herbs, supplements, and acupuncture (if you want to do acupuncture, it’s not essential).

At the end of each visit, you will receive your detailed, actionable, customized treatment plan that gets at the core of your issues.

Further investigations may include testing like those available through your MD or more advanced testing like thorough thyroid testing, food sensitivity testing, genetic testing, extensive hormone testing, and comprehensive digestive stool analysis.
