The bicycle shop follows the advice and guidance of local health authorities to provide the safest possible environment for members and staff. Masks are optional for staff and customers, hand sanitizer stations are available, and common areas are regularly disinfected. Staff practice frequent hand washing and social distancing.
The bicycle shop is part of a growing portfolio of high-performance green buildings. It is operationally carbon neutral and designed to be almost 50% more energy efficient than a comparable commercial building. Features include a high-performance building envelope, HVAC system, and LED lighting.
The bicycle shop offers professional ski and snowboard shop services to set customers up for the season. Some services may not be available year-round. Customers can buy two of the big three - board/skis, bindings, boots - and have their bindings mounted for free.
Every purchase at the bicycle shop supports the community by helping people access outdoor activities like visiting Rouge National Urban Park, nature walks, and camping trips. The shop works with local organizations and programs to make getting outside easier for everyone.
With support from the bicycle shop, Parks Canada's Learn to Camp program introduces individuals and families to the basics of camping in Canada's natural settings. Through overnight experiences and workshops, participants learn camping skills like setting up a tent, planning a camping menu, and cooking outdoors.
